February is ‘Come and Try’ month for calisthenics across Victoria! Everyone is invited to visit their local calisthenics club for a FREE lesson in Australia’s unique sport of Calisthenics.
Calisthenics is an exciting sport that incorporates elements of dance, gymnastics, ballet, singing and acting. Our motto is “Something for Everyone!” and we believe that through the different aspects of our sport, we really do cater to the talents, interests and likes of many children.
Combining the best aspects of sport and the performing arts, calisthenics can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities, from 3 to 93.
Primarily a team sport, calisthenics teaches its participants about commitment, confidence, team work and sportsmanship whilst promoting friendships which lasts a lifetime.
Calisthenics Victoria prides itself in involving the whole community in our sport whether that be competitively, recreationally or through school programs. Our strong relationship with VicHealth, Sport & Recreation Victoria, VicSport and the Australian Sports Commission has seen over 1,000 primary school children participate in a calisthenics school program in 2013.
The ‘February Come and Try Month’ campaign seeks to introduce the wider community to our fabulous sport
